John Edward Stomberger

John Edward Stomberger, age 94 of Louisville, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016. He was born May 16, 1922 to the late Jesse and Clara Stomberger. He was a graduate of Jeffersontown High school and Whittenburg College. John was an Army Veteran, where he served as a Lieutenant in the Signal Corp in WWII. John was a devoted member of Christ Lutheran Church. His career included his position as Vice President at Standard Foods. He was also preceded in death by wife, Doris June.

John is survived by loving sons, Denny (Janet) and David (Susan); 4 grandchildren, John (Shawna), Marcie (Scott), Nicholas (Jennifer), and Morgan (Chad); 10 great grandchildren, Elli, Caroline, Clay, Seth, Jack, Austin, Jesse, Elizabeth, Vincent and Merritt; a loving niece who visited "Po" regularly, Sandy Dockins (Jim), and her siblings, Thomas "La", Wayne and Shannon; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 4-8pm Wednesday, January 4, 2017 and 11am-1pm Thursday, January 5th at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. A celebration of John's life will be 1pm Thursday, January 5th at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
