John Schmittler

John Schmittler, 81, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. He was born on August 18, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Leonard and Helen Schmittler. He was a proud United States Army veteran who served in Korea. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 32 years of dedicated work and was a member of Auburndale Church of Christ. He was a kind and loving individual who was always willing to go the extra mile.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Michael Schmittler; a grandson, Jeremy Scott Schmittler; his sister, Tedra Ann Hoffman; and his late wife, Ella Mae Schmittler.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Florence Schmittler; a daughter, Sandy Kay; step-sons, Michael Wayne Ferguson and Jimmy Troutman; a daughter-in-law, Frances Schmittler; grandchildren, Johnathan, Mickey, Morgan, Samantha, Autumn and Mark; 10 wonderful great-grandchildren; nephews, Brian, Joe and David Taylor; and nieces, Angela, Tara and Mary all of whom he loved dearly.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all services for John will be private.
