John Roger Murphy, 66, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
He was born on February 17, 1953 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late George and Goldie (Rike) Murphy. He is also preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Murphy, brothers Charles Murphy, George Murphy, Robert Hardin and Richard Humphreys.
John is survived by his loving companion of 35 years, Phyllis Bird, children; Dawn Smith (Danny), Michael Murphy, Donnie Bird, Scott Murphy and Victoria Murphy. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and brother, Bill Murphy (Sam Hendrick).
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
His funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions in John's memory be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
