John Oliver Morrison, 80, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. John was a great father and had a genuine love for people, never meeting a stranger. He was a retired woodworker, having worked for Gamble Brothers and Haas Cabinets. John also enjoyed dancing, music, bowling, and, in his younger years, fishing.
He was born on March 11, 1939, to the late Edgar and Helen (Coomer) Morrison. John was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Morrison; siblings, Ray, Beverly, James, and Lewis; and extended family member, Melissia Morris.
John is survived by his sons, Alan Morrison (Linda) and Jon Morrison (Beverly); brothers, Herschel and Bill; granddaughters, Adrienne Graves, Kayla Morrison, and Theresa Morrison; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Dominic, Demi, David, and James; loving companion of over 20 years, Katherine Maddox; and his extended family, Robert Crutcher, Tammy Teegarden, Eddie Maddox, and Crystal Maddox.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in the chapel at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
