John Ray Miller

John Ray Miller, 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025. He retired after an over 25 year career as a salesperson for Western & Southern Life Insurance Company. John was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed both hunting and fishing.

He was born on October 30, 1942 in Reedyville, Kentucky to Blossie and Desmonia (Allison) Miller. Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Gregory.

John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth (Chasteen) Miller; children, Pam Brown (Mike), Matthew Miller, Sr. (Jessica); grandchildren, Doug Young (Samantha Summers), Desiree, Savannah, Matthew Miller, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Landon, Kye, Rylee Young; and siblings, Shirley Satterfield (Dallas) and Donald Miller.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his funeral service taking place at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Kansas Church of Christ Cemetery in Salem, Indiana.
