John David "J.D." Masters

John David "J.D." Masters, 76, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025. John was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and Papaw. He had a special interest in genealogy and enjoyed spending time in his garden. John had a passion for rescuing boxers and had a special bond with Sophie. John will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on January 3, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to Kermit and Marjorie (Brooksher) Masters. He is preceded in death by his father, Kermit Masters; mother, Marjorie Ann Masters; brother, Bobby Masters; and beloved dog, Sophie.

John is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kimberly Colburn-Masters; sons, Christopher (Amanda) Masters, Justin (Treva) Masters; granddaughter, Aubrie Masters; sisters, Jeanne (Larry) Thomas, Carole Hall; brothers, Wayne Masters, Richard (Loretta) Masters; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a celebration of John's life to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel.
