John Ward Kiper

November 22, 1940 — March 2, 2022

John Ward Kiper, age 81 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. He was born on November 22, 1940 to the late Edward Lennie and Nancy Irene Kiper. John was a devout Christian and board member at Douglass Blvd. Christian Church and a current member of Hurstbourne Christian Church. He was a Veteran and Sergeant in the US Army. He had a career as a Probation Officer and Chemical Dependency Counselor in Southern Indiana. He was also a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Optimists International (Club of Louisville), Life member of The Filson Society and
supported Cherokee Tribal Wellness Activities. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and his family. John enjoyed woodworking, fishing and his family. He loved his dogs Abby and Bentley and his Tennessee walking horses Classic, Spirit, Lady and Ebony. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Kiper.

John is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ann Waitman Kiper; his daughter, Holly Spears (Brandon); his sons, Kevin Kiper, Patrick Kiper and Allan Stratton; 5 grandchildren, Della Ramey, Alexandria Miceli (Corey), Jacob Ramey, Sarah Lee and Daniel Brown; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Services are private for the family.
