John A. "Bud" Keeton, Jr.

John A. "Bud" Keeton Jr., passed away peacefully on Sept 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family, whom he was so incredibly proud of.

Bud was born March 17, 1940 in Louisville to the late John and Margie Keeton. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, beloved Papaw, and a dear friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Bud was an intelligent man with a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. His personality, laughter, and stories brought joy to those around him, and he had a special way of making people smile.

Bud was a longtime member of First Capital Church and a man of faith. He retired from OK Trucking, where he enjoyed many years behind the wheel and formed lasting friendships with his coworkers. Even after retirement, Bud continued to look forward to meeting his former coworkers for breakfast at the Teamsters Hall.

He also treasured drinking coffee and visiting with his closest friends at McDonald’s. Those friendships meant so much to him, as did the many memorable trips to Myrtle Beach they shared together.

Bud cherished his family and the time he spent with the people he loved. His kindness, humor, wisdom, and friendship will remain in the hearts and memories of all who knew him.

Bud leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, friendship, and countless cherished memories that will live on through his family and all those who loved him.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margie Keeton, and his sister, Wanda Janes.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 68 years, Mary “Dolla”; his children, John A. Keeton III (Julie), Toni Keeton, and Karen Weaver (Darrell); and his amazing grandchildren, John Keeton, Robert Keeton (Lydia), Kaleb Weaver (Tiffany), Blake Weaver (Libby), Jacob Keeton (Bethany), and Kalyn Tuazon (Jake). He was also blessed with 18 great-grandchildren, who brought him so much joy. Bud is also survived by his brother, Bill “Dub” Keeton; sister, Jeanne Harned and sister-in-law Dot Perryman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at First Capital Christian Church in Corydon, Indiana. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the service following at 1:00 p.m.
