John Arlen Jenks

John Arlen Jenks, 89, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. John was an avid golfer and a faithful member of Valley View Golf Course. He was a diehard Indiana Hoosiers fan, a proud veteran of the United States Army, and a long-time member St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany.
He was born on July 8, 1932, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late John and Olive (King) Jenks. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ida M. Jenks.
John is survived by his son, Steven (Linda) Jenks; daughter, DeeAnn (Stephen) McDonald; daughter, Denise Schnatter; grandchildren, Alexandria (Robert) Moore, Hunter Schnatter, and Carson Schnatter; and brother, Bill Jenks.
Cremation was chosen following John's wishes, and a private family service will be held at a later date. John will be laid to rest with his wife at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
