John Robert Henderson

John Robert Henderson, 70, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. He was blessed to spend 46 years with the love of his life, Marles. Music filled him with joy every day. He enjoyed singing country western and gospel songs. His favorite pastimes were playing the guitar, fishing with his late close friend, Junior, and watching his favorite baseball team, the Chicago Cubs. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and most of all, making everyone around him laugh.

He was born in LaMoure, North Dakota, to the late Robert and Esther (Oquist) Henderson. John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marles (Hartz) Henderson; children, Scott Henderson (Jenn), Brad Henderson (Brooke), and Lauren Henderson Levin (Jed); siblings, Casey Henderson, Kelley Henderson (Adrienne), and Jane Henderson Vogel (Steve); and grandchildren, Laney, Cohen, Dylan, Maeve, Ryder, and Brooks.

Cremation was chosen following John's wishes. A reception of family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Newcomer – Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his Memorial Service taking place at 3:00 p.m.
