John E. Shope, Jr., passed away on January 11, 2015 from diabetic complications. He was a Marine veteran and enjoyed spending time at the lake with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine Shope.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Brenda Shope; son, John E. Shope, III; step-daughter, Teri Morris; sister, Martha Ward; 3 grandsons, Nick, Kyle and Chis; step-grandson, Bryce Priddy and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 14, 2015, from 9am-1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). A celebration of John's life will be Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 1:00pm at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Pleasureville Cemetery.
