John Douglas "Doug" Albin, 62, of Louisville KY passed away in his home on February 18, 2016 of natural causes. He was born to Roy Albin and Elizabeth Rae Walker on February 11, 1954.
Doug began a career as a brick mason at the age of 22. He applied his skills too many homes in the community and later to numerous commercial projects throughout the county. His hard work and meticulous dedication paved his way to becoming known as one of the best mentors and Master Craftsman of today.
He is survived by his three children, Troy Douglas Albin of Georgetown KY, Kristin Jewel Henley and Jessica Leah Albin both of Louisville KY, 10 grandchildren, his mother Elizabeth Rae Albin of Fountain CO, brother Todd Garrett Albin of Leopold IN, sisters Susan Albin Salinas and Kelly Albin Gosman both of Fountain CO, numerous nieces and nephews and former spouse Debbie Elmore Meredith. He is preceded in death by his father Roy Albin, his sister Beverly Albin Curd, his brother Robert Bruce Albin and former spouse Deborah Chandler Albin (mother of his daughters).
"I think the hardest part of losing someone, isn't having to say goodbye, but rather learning to live without them; always trying to fill the void that's left inside your heart when they go."
Memorial gathering for family and friends will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272) with a celebration of Doug's life beginning at 7:00 pm.
