John David Daniels, Sr.

July 17, 1948 — February 15, 2016

John David "Big John" Daniels, Sr., 67, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on February 15, 2016. John was born on July 17, 1948 in Fort Benning, GA to the late John and Anna Lucille Daniels. John was a Vietnam Veteran where he served proudly in the 4th Infantry Division. He learned to train service dogs while in the Army, which became his occupation and passion. He also enjoyed martial arts and the great outdoors. He lived to fish. John was a member of Valley Chapel of Prayer.

John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cathy Daniels; children, Anna Elizabeth Mae Daniels (Pam), Tammy Lee Burnett (Randy), and John David Daniels, Jr.; and one grandson, Jeremy Lynn Elkins.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, February 19, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272). Funeral ceremony will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or John's family.
