John Edward Cook, 77, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on January 5, 2017. He was born on August 5, 1939, in New Albany, Indiana, to Kermit and Clara (Riggs) Cook. John retired from Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky, as a truck driver after many years of service.
John enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He was very talented in playing musical instruments and had a passion for bluegrass music. John also enjoyed making Indian jewelry.
Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lindsay Panter. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Janice (Arnold) Cook; his children, Karen Snider, Lee Ann Lee, Pam Langford (Terry), Michele Faith (Rick), Susan Bonnet (Eric), and Troy Snider; his brother, Ralph Cook (Juanita); 7 grandchildren, Brenna, Jennifer, Jessica, Austin, Gordon, Kristy, and Cory; along with 12 great-grandchildren.
His Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home with more visitation before from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
