John Lee Bybee, Sr., age 79, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on November 30, 2024. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and beloved brother. A true family man, John found immense joy in fishing, cheering for the Cincinnati Bengals, and traveling. He also enjoyed watching the show "COPS," but his greatest happiness came from spending quality time with his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will forever be treasured by his family.
Born on March 23, 1945, in Louisville, John was the son of Ed and Lucille Bybee. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Bybee, Jr., and his sister, Pearl Redford.
John is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Bybee, and his children: Angela (Leonard) Vetter, Tony (Taloria) Simms, John (Yohanna) Woodford, Angela Faye Lyshe-Thierry (Charles), and James Lovett. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ramon M. (Rachael) Spinks, Trinity Bybee, Tony Simms, Quintin Simms, Chardona Schuler, Xavier Simms, Dion Keelin, Isaac Morris, Kayla Edwards, Kamaron Lyshe, Brendan Lyshe, Jada Lyshe, Robert Freeman, Dy’Jae Lovett; his brother, Robert Bybee; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends who will permanently hold him in their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Highway. His Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, at the same location.
