John Kevin Blandford

September 27, 1963 — June 4, 2017

John Kevin Blandford, 53, of Louisville, KY, passed away on June 4, 2017. He was an U.S. Army veteran who enjoyed writing poetry and making music. Kevin was a devout Catholic who served as a lector. He was involved in various community and recovery programs, including Celebrate Recovery, AA and Mankind Project. Kevin was a giving and caring person, a brother to everyone.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorene C. Blandford and brother, Marty Blandford.

Kevin is survived by his father, John Blandford; siblings, Mary Anne (Tracy) Hall, Angela M. Blandford and Joseph V. Blandford; nieces, Aletha (Andre) Thomas and Lori (Gerald) Short; nephew, Casey (Maria) Maupin and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY) from 12pm-8pm. A celebration of Kevin's life will be Monday, June 12, 2017, at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel beginning at 11am.

Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 Dixie Hwy, Fort Knox, KY, at 1pm with military honors.
