On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, God picked a lovely flower from his garden, John Albert Lewis. John was born October 12, 1968, at McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital in McDowell, Kentucky. He was the first-born son of Albert John Lewis and Marilyn Lesia Lewis. John was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, father, husband, brother-in-law, and friend.
John accepted Christ at an early age at Friendship Baptist Church, Wheelwright, Kentucky. He later rededicated his life, was baptized and became an active member of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky and remained a member until God called him home.
John graduated high school from Farragut High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. After high school, John graduated from University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky, where he earned a degree in Finance. He was an avid UK fan, despite his many UL family members. His family, in honor of John, for the first time ever cheered, and said, “GO CATS, Beat Duke at the last UK game.”
John united in marriage to Laura Rein, from this union Zada Grace Lewis was born. John’s first job was manager of Jelly Bean Restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky. He later became a sales representative for Southern Wines and Spirits in Louisville, Kentucky.
