Joel Mattison

Joel Mattison, 34, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019. Joel graduated from Valley High School in 2005. The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to Bill Brenzel for his dedication to Joel's scholastic achievements. He attended the Mattingly Center and most recently Mariposa Place. Again the family wants to extended a bit of gratitude to the teachers and staff at both of these facilities for their tender loving care of Joel. Joel touched everyone he met with his warm smile and sparkles in his eyes. He will be truly missed by everyone who crossed his path.

He was born on May 30, 1984 in Louisville, Kentucky to Gary and Angie (Wyss) Mattison. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Melvin and Della Mattison.

Joel is survived by his parents, sister, Jessica (Dale) Carman, nephew, Hunter Carman, niece, Haley Carman, maternal grandparents, Jim and Lois Reber. Joel also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery.

The family requests that contributions in Joel 's memory be made to Mariposa Place, 1520 Baxter Ave, Louisville, KY 40205.
