Joe L. Willis Jr.

Joe L. Willis Jr., 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandaddy, great-grandaddy, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a proud US Army Veteran and Civil Servant for over 40 years. He was an avid Cardinals and Cowboys fan and never missed a game. He was devoted to God and his country. Joe will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on October 10, 1946 in Homer, Louisiana to Joe and Marie (Mitchell) Willis. He is preceded in death by his Father, Joe LaVell Willis, Sr., Mother, Marie Benford, and Brother, Marvin Willis.

Joe is survived by his loving Wife of 50 years, Carole Denise Willis; Children, Michele L. Moffitt, James R. (Bonnie) Moffitt, Sr., and Thomas L. (Wendy) Moffitt; Grandchildren, Jordan L. Moffitt, James R. Moffitt, Jr., Andre D. Moffitt, Briana D. Moffitt, Olivia C. Moffitt, Hallie M. (Robert) Cummins, Vanessa L. Moffitt, and Dylan L. Cox; Great-Grandson, Caleb O. Bates; Sister, Vanessa (Oscar) Littlejohn and Sister, Joanne Willis; Nephew, Lawrence M (Krista) Moffitt; Sister-In-Law, Judith R (Fred) Jackson and Brother-In-Law, John E. Causey as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Celebration of Life will be at 6:00 pm on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.

The family requests that contributions in Joe's memory be made to Disabled Vets, American Cancer Society or The Local Humane Society.
