Joe Wheatley

January 4, 1957 — November 25, 2018

On Sunday, November 25, 2018, Joe Wheatley, loving husband and father of one daughter, passed away at age 61 peacefully in his home.

Joe was born on January 04, 1957 in Louisville, KY to Joe and Mary (Smith) Wheatley. In 1975, he married his high school sweetheart Candie Lee Wheatley (Jarboe). They raised one daughter Ashlee Alexander (Wheatley). Joe served in the U.S. Airforce 1975-1979, then returned home to Kentucky and became a Union Pipe Fitter and member of local 669.

Joe had a passion for restoring vintage bicycles, music, art, and gardening. He also loved his family, neighbors, and friends. Joe was known for his sense of humor and ability to make others laugh. Joe was always willing to help anyone he could, and was very charitable.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joe, and his mother, Mary. He is survived by his wife Candie, his daughter Ashlee Alexander, son in law Steven Alexander, his brother Doug Wheatley, and sister Cheri (Karen) Sullivan, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and loving in-laws.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, Service at 5:00pm.
