Joe Monin, 73, of Louisville, passed away on September 27, 2015.

Joe was born in Louisville on July 21, 1942, the son of Gilbert and Aileen (Maines) Monin. He was a caring family man to his four children, served his country honorably in the Air Force, and was an avid UK basketball fan.

Survivors include his children, Jody Monin (Nancy), Emily Monin, Julia Monin, and Anna Monin; sister, Joyce Erskine Jordan (Paul); brother, Clarence Monin (Lyra); sister, Linda Cassidy Lee; sister, Judy Johnson (Larry); 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243). Funeral ceremony will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial following at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - Central in Radcliff, KY.

The family would like to recognize Joe's caregivers, Angela and Jean, and the staff at Robley Rex VA Medical Center for their kindness and compassion during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
