Joe Tyler Castle , 84, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Joe was a United States Army Veteran, and an active member of Wellman Memorial Wesleyan, where he served for many years on the local church board, the district board, and the Maysville Camp board, as well a several committees, including the Best Years Fellowship committee.
Joe was an over the road truck driver for many years. He worked for Auto Releasing Co., Allied Trucking Co., Motor Convoy, and retired after 30 years, in 1993, from Provincial American Truck Transporters.
Joe loved the Lord with his whole heart and soul. He loved his church. He leaves behind many friends and family who loved and respected him greatly.
Joe was born on March 15, 1935 in Castlewood, Virginia to Clarence and Nell Castle. He is preceded in death by his parents, Son, David Clarence Castle, Brother, Albert E. Castle, and Sister, Elizabeth Holbrook.
Joe is survived by his loving Wife of 61 years, Patricia Jones Castle, whom he affectionately called Lucy, Daughters, Karen Gail Lewis, and Elizabeth Kathleen (David) Lane, Sons, Joey Edward (Sherry) Castle, Larry Kenneth (Ginger) Castle, Grandchildren: Betsy, Christopher, Andrew, Sarah, Rachael, Tyler, Ellie, Sloane, Paige, Lauren, Ashley, and Justin, Step-Grandchildren: Logan, Lauren, Lakin, and Laiha, Great-Grandchildren: Aiden, Zach, Lia Sue, Henry, Remy, Colt, Emery, Riley, Mattie, Ian, Connor, and Isaac.
A gathering for Joe's family and friends will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday June 9, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Highway). A celebration of his life will be on Monday, June 10, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens, in Mount Washington, Kentucky.
