Jodie Estle Burgin Jr., a devoted husband, father, brother, pawpaw, and friend, passed away on May 28, 2026. Born on May 22, 1953, in Louisville, KY, he lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a strong work ethic that touched all who knew him.

Jodie’s career spanned an impressive 44 years in the concrete business, a profession he not only embraced but deeply loved. His commitment and passion for his work were evident to those around him, reflecting a man who found fulfillment through labor and contributing to his community.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jodie had a vibrant personality and a heart full of love. He delighted in music, held a keen interest in race cars, and found simple pleasure in savoring an ice-cold Coca-Cola—little joys that painted a picture of a man who appreciated life’s simple pleasures.

He is survived by his loving son, Jason (Chasidee) Burgin, and daughter, Amanda (Josh) Haskovec, alongside cherished grandchildren Tyler and Tatum Burgin, as well as Jenna and Brady Haskovec, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. His brother, George Thomas Burgin Sr., and sister, Sharon Garmon. Together with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors who shared in Jodie’s life and will miss his presence dearly.

Jodie was preceded in death by his parents, Jodie Estle Burgin Sr. and Mary Alice Lawson, as well as his beloved wife of 46 years, Debra Jean Burgin. Their legacies remain intertwined with his own, reminding all who knew him of the love and strength that defined their lives together.

Jodie Estle Burgin Jr. will be remembered not only for his lifelong dedication and strong character but most profoundly for the love he gave his family and friends. His presence enriched their lives, and his memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who were privileged to know him.

Cremation Services were chosen and no public service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that expressions of sympathy be made to Hosparus Health c/o Development Department 6200 Dutchmans Lane Louisville, KY 40205.
