Joann (Hollis) Chaffin

Joann (Hollis) Chaffin, 86, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. She retired from Jewish Hospital and upon retirement went to work for several years at Dairy Queen on Spring Street in New Albany. Joann was an avid fan of the Indiana Hoosiers and enjoyed sitting on her front porch visiting with her neighbors.

She was born on September 28, 1934 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Ederick and Clara (Priddy) Hollis. Joann was also preceded in death by her children, Debbie Ingle, Cathy Chism, Donnie Chaffin; and siblings, Marlene Flora, James "Buddy" Hollis, Ederick "Peanut" Hollis and Marion Rowley.

Joann is survived by her grandchildren, John Ingle, Jason Ingle (Amanda), Eric Chism, Amanda Elliott, Melissa Chaffin, Emily Chaffin; daughter, Victoria Rose; sisters, Linda Zeller, Pauline Ward; as well as several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a graveside service to immediately follow at Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
