Joan Faye (Noel) Susemichel, 79, of Prospect, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at home after years of living with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on March 25, 1941 in Louisville, KY to the late Cecil and Wynema (Garrett) Noel. A graduate of Rossford High School and University of Louisville. Joan was the beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and loving friend to many. Joan was a member of Highview Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her brother Cecil Noel Jr. and sister Sherran (Noel) Engert. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Andrew; daughter Laura (Troy) Pickett; granddaughter Ella Pickett; brother Arthur (Mary) Noel; and sisters Joyce Spitnale, Sandra (Pete) Rees, Barbara (Dennis) Olzanski and Susan (Dave) Kazmaier.

Before her living with Alzheimer's disease, Joan was a Bible Study Fellowship leader, she was a member of the Southern Baptist Seminary Foundation's Woman's Auxiliary and she had an interior design business and ceramic pottery studio. Joan came from Toledo when she was in her early twenties. When she arrived in Louisville, she confirmed her faith in Jesus and became a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church where she was a youth Bible study leader for many years. Joan was a member of Highview Baptist Church and was a part of a group of members who witnessed to people to start Highview Baptist Church East Campus.

Joan's family thanks Family Support Services and their loving care givers in their care for Joan for more than 10 years.

Services will be held for the immediate family and close friends at Highview Baptist Church Fegenbush Chapel. Arrangements by Newcomer Funeral Home in Middletown. A private entombment will be held at Cave Hill Cemetery in the Lakeview Mausoleum. The family suggests memorials to Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville and Bible Study Fellowship International in San Antonio, Texas in lieu of flowers.
