Joan Elaine (Wooten) Davis

Joan Elaine (Wooten) Davis, 74, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. She enjoyed crocheting and coloring. Joan was a fan of T.V. crime dramas and was an avid animal lover.

She was born on July 10, 1946, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to William and Wynona (Lusk) Wooten. Joan was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer "Peanuts" Davis, Jr.; son, Elmer Davis III; and brothers, Ronald and Gary Wooten.

Joan is survived by her children, Loretta Dowdle and William "Billy" Davis; daughter-in-law, Belinda Davis; grandchildren, Valerie Volpert, Morgan Polen (Dustin), Dillon Davis, Thomas Dowdle, and Haley Dowdle; and great-grandchildren, Wesley and Everleigh.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
