Joan L. Carter, 74, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 29, 1942.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary F. and Allen C. Patterson; and her beloved husband, Kenneth Carter.
Joan is survived by her beloved children, Kenicia Carter, Tonya (Vincent) Rutherford, Dorothy Carter, Princena (Jason) Rakes, Andre (Kim) Rutherford, Tonye (Leigh Ann) Rutherford, and Michelle Carter; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; along with a host of other family members and friends who will greatly miss her.
A celebration of Joan's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017, also at Newcomer Funeral Home.
Joan will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, Kentucky, with her husband Kenneth.
