March 16, 1933 — April 19, 2016

Jo Ann Cox, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on April 19, 2016. She was an elementary school teacher, Kindergarten Director, violinist, and proud grandparent. Jo Ann was well known for her inspirational writing, storytelling, and many friendships.

Jo Ann was born on March 16, 1933, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Charles and Carolina (Hassenflug) Goldsmith. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Leonberger and brother, Stanley Goldsmith.

Jo Ann is survived by her husband of 57 years, William "Bill" Cox; sons, Stuart (Sara) and Brian (Jana) Cox; grandchildren, Andrew, Alison, Whitney, and Spencer Cox; brother, Charles Goldsmith; sister, Norma Lee Nauman; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, April 23, 2016 at St. Andrew United Church of Christ (2608 Browns Lane Louisville, KY 40220) with her Funeral Ceremony to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park following the ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.
