Jimmy Wayne Soards

Jimmy Wayne Soards, 75, passed away on August 17, 2021, He was born in Monroe County, KY on November 2, 1945. In his 20's he moved to Louisville, following the love of his life, Pat. Jimmy became a carpenter for over 30 years in the Louisville area. He got a job at the University of Louisville working in the physical plant; where he retired after 14 years of service. Jimmy was an avid camper and enjoyed camping with family and friends. He was talented with his hands from woodworking, gardening and could build or fix anything, Most importantly was spending time with his family and his 4 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hascal and Anna Soards and sister, Mary Bray.

Jimmy leaves to cherish his memories his wife, of 52 years, Pat Soards; children, William Anthony (Chrissy) Soards and Tressya Carol (Chris) Stebbins; grandchildren, Meredith Soards, Abby Stebbins, Ben Stebbins and Liam Soards; siblings, Marjorie Maiden, of Toledo, OH, Joyce Trowbridge of Oregon, OH, Betty Sue Profitt, Linda (Johnny) Harlow, Bill (Margaret) Soards and Tony (Cheryl) Soards all of Glasgow, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, August 23, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304, Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 3pm-8pm.

A graveside service for Jimmy will be Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Union Cemetery 1, Fountain Run, KY beginning at 11am Central Standard Time.
