Jimmy Dwayne Richardson, born on January 16, 1959, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. Those who knew and loved Jimmy remember him as a compassionate, honest, and loving person—someone whose dedication to his community and family was the guiding light of his life.
Jimmy was raised in Jeffersonville and was a proud graduate of Jeffersonville High School. His journey led him to a distinguished career with the United States Army, where he served his country with honor and integrity, eventually retiring from a career marked by unfailing commitment and courage. The discipline and sense of duty he learned during his military service shaped the man he became—hardworking, steadfast, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Throughout his life, Jimmy dedicated himself not only to his work but also to the service of others. He worked off and on as a security guard for various businesses across Kentuckiana, always conducting himself with reliability and care. Yet it was through his years of volunteering with Special Olympics Indiana Clark and Floyd Counties that Jimmy’s compassion reached so many in powerful, meaningful ways. His efforts gave friendship, support, and encouragement to athletes and families alike, showing everyone who crossed his path the depth of his kindness.
Those close to Jimmy will remember his love for the outdoors—he found genuine joy in fishing, being on the water, and embracing the peace and beauty of nature. He was ever eager to travel, explore, and share new experiences with friends and loved ones. Bowling with friends brought him laughter, and watching wrestling or attending matches allowed him to unwind and cheer with contagious enthusiasm. Jimmy was most at home when surrounded by family and friends, treasuring their company and sharing in every moment of happiness and challenge that life brought.
Above all else, Jimmy’s heart was full of love for his family. He is survived by his siblings, Roslyn Stovall, Sandra Stovall, Clifton Stovall, III, and Darryl Stovall (Ariel). Each of them carries forward the strength, kindness, and deep sense of loyalty he embodied every day. Jimmy is also remembered by his devoted girlfriend of 20 years, Ginger Cooper. He is also remembered by all those whose company he cherished, and whose lives he made brighter, even in the smallest ways.
He joins in rest his beloved parents, Clifton Stovall, Jr. and Jennie V. Stovall, both of whom instilled in him the values of integrity and compassion that he lived by so earnestly.
A visitation to honor Jimmy Dwayne Richardson’s life and legacy will take place on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150.
