Jimmy Dean"Sammy" Grace

Jimmy Dean "Sammy" Grace, 75, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on December 31, 2014. In his younger years he enjoyed both boxing and traveling across the United States. Sammy was a truck driver for many years and also became a chef. He could easily be described as a jack of all traits.

He was born on December 15, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Theodore and Jennie (Montgomery) Grace. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Paul Grace, Sr.

Sammy is survived by his nieces and nephews, Elnola "Gay" Miller (Roy), Paul Grace, Jr. (Antoinette), Aundra Grace, Shawnte Grace; former wife, Charlotte Grace; and many good friends.

A reception of family and friends will be from 4 to 6 on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a Memorial Service taking place at 6 PM. Cremation was chosen following Sammy's wishes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Sammy's memory may be made to the Wayside Christian Mission (432 E. Jefferson Street, Louisville, KY 40202).
