Jimmy Lee Armstrong

Jimmy Lee Armstrong, 65, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2026. He was born on January 22, 1961, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Jimmy will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle whose life was grounded in honesty, straightforwardness, and compassion. He found joy in simple and meaningful things: going fishing, playing euchre, and spending time with his friends and family. Among the blessings of his life, nothing meant more to him than watching his family grow and succeed, a source of deep pride and lasting happiness.

He is survived by his sons, Tommy Armstrong and Anthony Armstrong; stepdaughter, Angela Wolf; his grandson, Sean Lee Armstrong; his brother, Steve Armstrong (Lois); his sister, Tammy Lynn Martin (Paul); his stepbrother, Russell Martin (Denise); and his niece, Marcia Hodges, and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, friends and extended family. Those who knew Jimmy will remember the steady presence he brought to the lives of the people he loved, and the care he showed so naturally to family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Armstrong; mother, Alice Armstrong; his father, Harlen Armstrong; his stepbrothers, George Martin and Steve Martin; his stepsister, Wendy Scalf; and his stepmother, Linda Armstrong.

Jimmy’s memory will live on in the stories shared around family gatherings, in quiet moments by the water, and in the love he gave so freely throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
