Jessie D. Ross

Jessie D. Ross, 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Jessie was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was always there when you needed her. She was an amazing cook and was known for her Famous Dressing. She had a great sense of humor and always smiled no matter what life brought. Jessie will truly be missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was born on February 2, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky to James and Lomes (Robinson) Rutherford. She is preceded in death by her Father, James H. Rutherford, Mother, Lomes Mae Rutherford, Husband, Melvin Curtis Ross, Sr., Siblings, Jimmy Rutherford and Anna Alford.

Jessie is survived by her loving family, Children, Deborah (Tommy) Wallace, Melvin C. (Cheri) Ross, Jr., Donna (Joe) Kelty, and Becky (Ricky) Hale; Grandchildren, Sasha, Kyle, David, Daniel, Dwayne, Todd, Angie, and Tony; Several Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Dorothy Jacobs; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish her memory forever.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Monday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West in Louisville, Kentucky.
