New Albany, Indiana

Jerry Wilson, age 72, born on August 23, 1952, in New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was a cherished figure in both his family and community, leaving behind a legacy marked by service, humor, and deep personal connections.

He dedicated over 20 years of his life to Jeff Boat as a maintenance technician, followed by another two decades at PQ Corporation, where he completed his fulfilling career before retiring. His commitment to his work exemplified his reliability and dedication, traits that extended beyond his professional life.

A proud graduate of South Central High School, Class of 1970, Jerry carried with him a spirit of joy and camaraderie, often seen sharing laughter and spreading happiness among those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His personality was defined by a great sense of humor; he was often a jokester, always making people laugh.

Throughout his life, Jerry enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including fishing, hunting, camping, fast cars, woodworking, gardening, traveling, and golfing. These pursuits provided joy not only to him but also to the many family members and friends who shared these interests with him.

Jerry's pride and joy were undoubtedly his family especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry, and his two daughters, Marsha (Darren) Sneed and Maggie (Brad) Walker. His grandchildren, Shelby (Tyler), Garrett, Molly, Sydney, Bailey (Megan), and Ruby brought immense joy into his life, and he treasured the moments spent with them. He also leaves behind his brother, Elmer "Sonny" (Dianne) Wilson; sisters, Linda (Bill) Leffler, Janet Plantz, and Mary Etta Brothers; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Jerry is predeceased by his daughter, Terre Lee Wilson; his parents, Alvin L. and Henrietta Wilson; and siblings, Ann Long, Alvin Wilson, and Dorothy Russell. These losses are felt deeply, as family and friends remember the love and laughter he shared with all.
