Jerry L. Green

Jerry Layman Green Born in Millwood KY, June 5th,1942.

He was the son to beloved parents, William ‘Pop’ & Blanche Green, who proceeded him in death. He had a total of 8 siblings. He was proceeded in death by brother, James, sisters- Carol and Doris Compher (Ed), and sister-n-law Wanda (Nick). Survived by siblings and spouses- Clifford (Judy), Nick, David (Mary), Robert (Cecily) and Ruth Green.

He married his wife, Sandra Smith in June 1963. She was the absolute love of his life! He is Survived by 2 children Greggory ‘Terry’ & Christopher Green (Erin).

He was an Electrician by trade and his company Green Electric, was well known in the Louisville Communities. He will be remembered for being very generous of his time, energy and expertise to assist others, often times without even being asked. He also worked many years at Jefferson Audio Video Systems, where his labor and dedication were noted. Many of his family members had the pleasure of working along side of him. He also, had a cheecky sense of humor, leaving many of us laughing and nodding, as we couldn’t outwit him!

One of his main hobbies was motorcross. Until recently, he had his pristine Yahama 250YZ with him, in his garage. Waiting for the day when he would feel young and vibrant enough to ride it! He has trophies galore. Surely the memories and stories are endless. He is survived by many other friends, nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Until he passed away, he was in the care of his Doctor, who became a dear friend.

Dr. Haney said it best, “The real diagnosis is that he died of a broken heart for loosing his beloved wife, of over 60 years!” ‘Sandy’ passed in June of 2025, and he could’t live without her. Their love story will never be forgotten!

He went to sleep March 18, 2026.
