Jerry D. Massingille
May 20, 1953 — March 5, 2015
Jerry D. Massingille, 61, devoted husband and family man, of Clarksville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015. He loved UK basketball, gospel music, as well as cooking and working on old cars. Jerry was a member of the Christian Hotrod Association and their vocal band. He had a wonderful sense of humor that was contagious and made others laugh.
He was born on May 20, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Arlo and Evelyn (Disney) Massingille. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Arla McCoy. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Alice (Abell) Massingille; son, James Matthew Massingille (Ashley); step-children, James Anderson (Bridgett), Christopher Anderson (Kristi), Elizabeth Johnson (Richard); siblings, Ronnie Massingille (June), Allen Massingille (Debbie), Fawnda Walters (Danny); and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 12 to 2 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM with cremation to follow according to Jerry's wishes.
Contributions in Jerry's memory may be made to Kosair Children's Hospital (Hospital Foundation, Department 86140, PO Box 950183, Louisville, KY 40295).
