Jerry Lee Ahlrich, 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025.
He was born on August 11, 1954 in Wood River, Illinois to the late Robert Charles and Norma June (Wisegarver) Ahlrich. He is also preceded in death by his son, Aaron Robert Ahlrich and his brother, Steven Lynn Ahlrich.
Jerry had a strong servant’s heart, he took joy in others as they did in him. He was the first to laugh and find the humor in life. He would regale anyone who obliged in an animated story. His frugal nature never impeded his generous spirit. He loved to feed folks and could be found on the sidelines supporting the cast when he wasn’t shining on stage.
As a husband, he cared for Donna first and always, loving her unconditionally.
As a father, he enjoyed his children and delighted in his grandchildren.
He loved the Louisville Cardinals and cheered for them no matter the sport!
More importantly, he loved Jesus and gave his life to Him many decades ago.
He had a twinkle in his eye that let even strangers know he was ready to laugh.
We will miss his effervescent spirit greatly, only finding peace in knowing he no longer suffers in his earthly body but is now whole with his Savior.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Donna M. Ahlrich, daughter, Alyson Jane Ahlrich Barbour (Patrick), grandchildren, Ethan Barbour, Jackson Ahlrich and Pearlie June Barbour. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Ahlrich Knueven (Al) and niece, Julie Ahlrich.
Per Jerry's wishes cremation chosen and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Sojourn East (2501 Rudy Lane Louisville, KY 40207).
