Jennifer Lynn (Hopkins) Johnson passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on July 10, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio, Jennifer was the daughter of John and Lois (Brinkman) Hopkins.
Much of Jennifer's life was spent in Tampa, Florida, where she became an integral part of the local community, working at the University of South Florida. A woman of many talents, she possessed a beautiful voice and found great joy in singing in church choirs. In addition to her vocal gifts, Jennifer was also a talented pianist.
Jennifer was a passionate sports fan, cheering enthusiastically for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Beyond her love for music and sports, she cherished moments spent camping with her family. Jennifer's greatest joy came from the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Johnson; her brother, Mark Hopkins; and her best friend, Marsha Stickel. She is survived by her two children, Jessica Murray (spouse Todd) and Jacob Johnson (spouse Beth), and her seven grandchildren, Bree Murray (spouse Alex Townsend) and Ethan Murray; Liam Johnson; Joseph, Clara, Evelyn, and Barbara Johnson. Also left to cherish her memory is her brother, John Hopkins.
Jennifer's wishes were to be cremated. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
