Jeanne Burress

Shelby "Jeanne" Burress, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Jeanne was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed spending time making jewelry, she was an avid shoe collector, and watching noir movies. Jeanne was an animal lover at heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was born on July 30, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky to Shelby and Ruby Ferguson. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Jeanne is survived by her loving family, sons, David (Kim) Baker, and Jason (Tonya) Baker; sisters, Rebecca (Steven) Prewitt, Tina (Larry) Borders, Lisa (Terry) Borders; grandchildren, Eric (Matt Tyldesley) Baker, Christopher (Jessica) Baker, Ashley (Patrick) Thomas, Austin Baker, Victoria (Damon Harper) Baker; 4 great-grandchildren; fur baby, Buster; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests that contributions in Shelby's memory be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and the ASPCA.
