Jeanette Lea Brown

Jeanette Lea Brown, age 56, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025. Born on December 30, 1968, in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late James Brown and Alma (Wesbecker) Branner. Jeanette left a lasting mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her.

A proud graduate of New Albany High School, Class of 1986, Jeanette's dedication to her community and faith was evident in her membership at Crossing Christian Church. Her life was characterized by her unwavering love for her family and friends, and her nurturing spirit will be remembered by all.

Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Allexis and Shayla Simpson. She also leaves behind her cherished granddaughter, Harper Mills, who brought joy and laughter into her world. Jeanette is further survived by her sister, Lisa Logsdon, brother, Tim Brown, and a niece, Ashley McDaniel (Nathan), along with her great-niece, Jordan, her boyfriend, Dean Wheat, her best friend, Mary Gahlinger, and faithful companion, Brandi.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., and burial will take place at Edwardsville-Tunnel Hill Cemetery.
