Jean Marie(Schamel) Homberger

Jean Marie (Schamel) Homberger, 88, of Greenville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at her home. She was a member of Greenville Christian Church. Jean had many interests which included gardening, sewing, and painting. She also enjoyed playing the piano as well as doing ceramics.
She was born on November 22, 1926 to the late Robert Dewey and Ruth (Tush) Schamel. Jean was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Homberger; and brother, Bill Schamel.
Jean is survived by her children, Debra Tull, Doug Homberger (Helen); brother, Jack Schamel; grandchildren, Derek Homberger (Tracy), Abigail Homberger, Laura Tull, Sarah Tull; and several nieces and nephews.
A reception of family and friends will be from 2 to 4 PM on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a Memorial Service taking place at 4 PM. Cremation was chosen following Jean's wishes and she will be laid to rest in Greenville Cemetery.
The family requests contributions in Jean's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (701 W. Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Louisville, KY 40203).
