Jean “Jeanie” Bryant Carden, 79, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born at Fort Knox, Kentucky, to Henry L. Bryant and Joyce P. Bryant. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter, Kimberly D. Armstrong.
She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Newton (James) and Debra McGrew; and her brother, Harry L. Bryant.
Jean was the best Mamaw to her five grandchildren, Brandy Clark (Jared), Ashley Reyes (JR), Emily Vincent (Justin), Alex Newton, and Kaylee Wedding (Justin), and her 15 great-grandchildren.
Jean retired from General Electric after many years of dedicated work.
Jean was a truly constant presence in her family’s lives. She was always there when someone needed her, and you could always count on her, no matter what. Whether it was a spur-of-the-moment outing, a last-minute plan, or simply whatever one of her loved ones came to her with, Jean was always ready. She embraced life and the people she loved with an open heart and an adventurous spirit.
Her life was full of memories, stories, laughter, and moments that her family will cherish forever. She was a big presence in her family. She was a steady, familiar, and loving part of so many lives. Her absence is truly felt by all who loved her.
Jean will be missed dearly, but the love she gave, the stories she shared, and the memories she created will live on in her family for generations to come.
