Jean M. Epperson, 92, entered eternal life early evening, March 5, 2022 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital.
Jean was a devout Catholic who devoted her life to her family. Jean was a Eucharistic minister sharing her time with those who could not attend mass for communion. She volunteered at St. Joseph school working with children and assisting in the cafeteria. Jean was also a part of the PTA at St. Joseph. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Louis D. Epperson.
Jean leaves to cherish her memory her five children; sons, Louis E. (Monica), Jacob (Donna) and Dennis Epperson (Amy); daughters, Sharon Mattingly (Jim), and Nancye Davis. Jean was blessed to have 13 grandchildren: Lee, Brian, Amanda, Jim, Jacob, Cameron, Kate, Kristi, Drew, Paul, Mia, Zach and Rachael and 14 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 2 to 6pm on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243. A celebration of Jean's life will be on Monday, March 14th at 11am at Newcomer. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Jean enjoyed penny poker, slot machines, playing Bingo, and scratch off tickets and swore she never won. But her real joy was being with her family, especially her grandkids, the light of her eyes.
While it is painful to say goodbye, we find great comfort in knowing she was lovingly welcomed to Heaven by the ones who went before. Rest in peace, Mom, until we see you again.
