Jason Allen Garris, 35, of Elizabethtown, KY passed away unexpectedly at home on January 24, 2016.

Jason was born in Honolulu, HI on October 23, 1980 to Robert Garris and Wendy Metcalf. He graduated from Manuel High School in Louisville in 1999 and enlisted in the Army shortly thereafter. He served honorably in the 101st Airborne Division, known as the "Rakkasans" in Fort Campbell, KY.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Robert and an infant daughter, Sadie. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Stacey (Hensley) Garris; five daughters, Breanna Hensley, Kalee Garris, Lana Garris, Mia Garris, and Isabelle Garris; mother and step-father, Wendy and Lyle Metcalf; brothers, Jeremy Garris, Van Metcalf (Joanna) and Michael Metcalf (Kristie); and sister, Joanne Morton (Tim).

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, January 28, at Chrome Soldiers MC (157 Milby Lane, Elizabethtown, KY 42701).

Interment with military honors will take place at 2:00 pm Friday, February 5 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - Central in Radcliff, KY. For those who wish to follow the funeral procession to the cemetery, we ask that you meet at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272) at 1:00 pm Friday, February 5.
