Janice Marie (Lankford) Merten, 83, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020. She enjoyed sewing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
She was born on November 14, 1936 in Paoli, Indiana to the late Cohen and Clarice (Morris) Lankford. Janice was also preceded in death by her siblings, Donald Lankford, Martha Elliot, Raymond Lankford and James Lankford.
Janice is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Edward Merten; children, Mark Merten (Robin), Lisa Wilder (Wayne), Laura LaDuke (Jeff); sister, Mary Jane Kay; grandchildren, Anna Merten, John Merten, Kelly Merten, Andrew Kasse, Charles Wilder, Nicole Crosthwaite (Wes), Krista McNew (Joe), Jessica Streepey (Tad); and great-grandchildren, Caden Wilder, Cailie Wilder, Jackson Crosthwaite, Mason Crosthwaite, Brody Crosthwaite, Emily McNew, Eli McNew, Hayley Goodman, Finley Streepey and Aynsley Streepey.
Services will be held privately at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and Janice will be laid to rest at Edwardsville Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to Maple Manor - Activities Department (643 W. Utica Street, Sellersburg, IN 47172).
