Janice Leigh Mattingly, age 67 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Jan graduated from Western High School class of 1977 and was a proud member of the Western High School Alumni Association. She was also a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University class of 1985, where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Jan spent over 40 years as a registered nurse, with time spent as a traveling nurse, with her favorite being in Alaska. She was most recently employed with the Louisville Surgery Center. Jan was an avid crafter , making everything from stained glass to quilts, and you may have seen her at many crafting fairs promoting her jewelry business, "Blissful Beads". She was very proud of her German heritage, taking German lessons and spending time at the German-American Club.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Janie Lee Curtsinger and Clifton Miles Hauenstein, III.; and her beloved grandmother, Norma Marion Hauenstein.
Jan is survived by her loving daughters, Jillian Leigh Hamilton (Drew) and Kaitlyn Victoria Mattingly; grandchildren, Emersyn Belle Mattingly, Homer Pine Brown and Garnet Moon Brown; cousin and friend, Vicki Lynn Bell; beloved cat, Tippy; and brother, Rick Hauenstein; and a host of relatives and friends that she held dear.
A celebration of life gathering is currently being planned and will be announced at a later date.
