Janice "Jann" M. Detenber, a beloved mother and dedicated community member, passed away on December 24, 2025, at the age of 84 in New Albany, Indiana. Born on September 8, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky, Jann led a life rich in accomplishments and relationships, making a lasting impact on all who knew her.

A graduate of Ahrens Trade School, Jann pursued her career with passion and determination, serving as a quality manager at Pillsbury for an impressive 40 years. Her professional life was marked not just by her work ethic, but also by her commitment to excellence and the well-being of those around her.

Jann was more than just her professional accomplishments; she was a woman with a heart full of love for others. Her spirit of generosity was evident in her many years of volunteer work with the Red Cross. Regardless of the circumstances, if someone was in need, Jann was there, ready to lend a helping hand and share her warmth.

Traveling was a significant part of Jann's life. She cherished the adventures shared with her son, Joey, exploring the world together and creating memories that would last a lifetime. Her adventurous spirit extended to her hobbies, where she found joy in riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle, and attending races with her son, William "Bud" Detenber. She also enjoyed yoga exercise, and shared a deep love of Star Trek with both of her boys.

Jann leaves behind her two loving sons, William "Bud" Detenber and Joey (Kevin Kusinski) Detenber, along with her cherished cousin, Christine Meredith Hakes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Louvada Meredith, and her brothers, Harry and Robert Meredith.

Jann M. Detenber will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but also for her kindness, adventurous spirit, and deep commitment to her family, friends and community. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

It was Jann's wishes to be cremated without services.
