Janice Kay (Austin) Fulton, 61, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018. She was a member of Northside Christian Church and was considered the "glue" that kept her family together. Janice loved her family and was known as a very warm, caring, and selfless person who was known for placing a bet on a racehorse or two.
She was born on April 24, 1957, in New Albany to the late Carlos Austin and Mary (Griffey) Watson. Along with her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fulton; a son, Tony Jo "Dink" Smeltz; and grandchildren, Dottie Ashby and Richard "T.J." Cozart, Jr.
Janice is survived by her children, Carlos Austin (Valerie), Tina Gullett (Donald), Marvin "Boogie" Ferguson (Kimmy), Carla Shelton (Nick), Tammy Fulton (Mark), Fancy Fulton-Smith (Mark), and Ricky Fulton (Twana); sisters, Nancy Sample and Tammy Hammons; 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals, & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Her Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
