Janice (Killen) Farmer, 77, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020. Family meant everything to Janice, and she was especially proud of her grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting antiques and gardening. Janice was a Christian by faith and could also be described as an animal lover.
She was born on September 24, 1942, in Crab Orchard , Kentucky, to the late Rupert and Thelma (Thompson) Killen. Janice was also preceded in death by her brother, Darice Killen; grandson, Brian Farmer; and former husband, Gene Farmer.
Janice is survived by her children, Barry Farmer (Michelle), Kim Watson (Gary), Brittany Frick (Steve), and Amy Meyer (Jim); siblings, Royce Killen (Christine), Joyce King, and Connie Day (Keith); grandchildren, Alex Farmer, Lauren Meyer, John Meyer, and Sam Frick; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her funeral service taking place at 2:00 p.m. Janice's wishes were to be cremated, and she will be laid to rest privately with her parents in Crab Orchard, Kentucky.
Janice had an unconditional love for children of all ages and backgrounds. The family requests that contributions in her memory be made to the Home of the Innocents (1100 E. Market Street, Louisville, KY 40206).
