Janetta Mae Williams, born on March 23, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026. Her passing marks the conclusion of a long and meaningful journey, one characterized by love, devotion, and deep familial bonds.
Janetta was the cherished daughter of Emmett Hack and Carrie Hack (Hall), both of whom preceded her in death. In her early years in Louisville, Janetta forged a character grounded in warmth, resilience, and kindness—qualities that would define her relationships and inspire those around her throughout her life.
In her adulthood, Janetta entered into marriage with James Williams, her beloved husband, sharing together a partnership filled with devotion and mutual respect until his passing. Their shared commitments and family values established a strong foundation for the generations that would follow. Janetta was a devoted bus driver for 57 and a half years.
Janetta is survived by her loving son, James "Jimbo" Hatchell, whose care and gratitude were a constant source of pride for her. She also leaves behind a devoted granddaughter, Mary (Mike) Belskis, who held a special place in her heart. Janetta’s legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Bryan Ingram) Ballard, Isaac (Malia Warford) Ballard, Martin Cox III, and Daniel Cox. The family further grows with her great-great-grandson, Jasper Ingram, each carrying forward her memory and the lessons she imparted.
Her life touched many, her counsel was sought, and her example was held in high esteem by all who knew her. The memory of her gentle smile, steadfast spirit, and genuine love for her family will continue to inspire and guide those she leaves behind.
Janetta Mae Williams will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. Her family and friends are profoundly grateful for the time they shared with her and for the enduring legacy she leaves—a testament to a life well lived, marked by kindness, integrity, and enduring devotion.
